Lew Geffen Sotheby’s International Realty is South Africa’s flagship realtor of prestige properties. The company serves a wide range of price markets but is primarily known for marketing and evaluating luxury homes.
The South African property market is saturated with competitors and weak content. This has left consumers with a generally negative perception of the industry as a whole and led to generally low engagement levels online. Lew Geffen Sotheby’s wanted to establish itself as a role player in this challenging social media space, and influence and change people’s perspectives by providing engaging and interactive content. It appointed Clockwork Media to create content for and manage its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Clockwork Media proposed a two-tier approach to managing the client’s social media. The first tier focused on a paid acquisition strategy in order to grow a focused and targeted audience. This then fed into the second tier, whereby we actively promoted and engaged relevant content of use to its target audience.
Our two-tiered approach had an overarching effect on social lead generation and yielded overwhelmingly positive results almost immediately. When we took over their Facebook account, they were ranked on par with the industry average. In only two months, we were able to grow it by 68 percent. Within the same period of time, we were able to take the client from having no Twitter presence whatsoever to having 400 followers. Across all social media platforms, we were, on average, 30 percent ahead of our projected KPIs.
