McDonald’s is recognised as one of the world’s most recognised brands, as well as the world’s largest fast food chain. McDonald’s currently operates over 170 restaurants in South Africa.
In October 2012, McDonald’s contacted Clockwork Media to develop an online blog with the intention of promoting its Top Jock competition.
Within a limited timeframe, Clockwork Media conceptualised, designed and developed the McDonald’s Top Jock blog, opting for a WordPress CMS to support the overall framework. The agency also set about creating compelling content which would resonate with McDonald’s South Africa’s target market. This included feature articles and interviews with some of the most well-known DJs in South Africa.
The blog achieved over 500 unique visitors within 2 months and served to strengthen McDonald’s South Africa’s SEO profile.
