Founded in Germany in 1972, SAP is the world leader in enterprise software and application development. Africa is a rapidly growing and strategically vital region for the company, and as such, SAP Africa is a major player in the local enterprise software market.
In June 2013, Clockwork Media was commissioned to take over the management duties for SAP Africa’s social media platforms. These include pages on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. SAP Africa presented Clockwork Media with an objective to rapidly grow all of these platforms and to drastically increase their rates of engagement.
Clockwork Media immediately began creating unique and engaging tailored content, designed to create interest and discussion on the provided platforms. Optimised digital advertising campaigns were created to ensure rapid growth on the platforms.
Within 3 months, Clockwork Media grew the SAP Africa Facebook page from under 500 followers, to over 14 000. In the same period of time, the agency grew the SAP Africa Twitter profile from under 500 followers to over 3 500 followers. Engagement on all platforms was dramatically increased, in some cases by as much as 700%.
